Orange Door Supper Club: Tastes of Mexico

Summer is here! For us, that means enjoying pitchers of margaritas and copious amounts of fresh guac on the back deck with neighbors, shooting the breeze, and watching fireflies gather in the yard (and let’s face it, swatting mosquitos too). As the weather heats up in Massachusetts, we turn to the South for inspiration in the kitchen so that what we’re making works well on a hot night. For our July supper club dinner, we’re skipping over the southern border to bring you Tastes of Mexico.

"Shaken, Stirred & Punched" Mixology Class: Tea, Anyone?

Sweet tea may not be much of a cultural thing in the northeast, but New Englanders have a long tradition of caring a lot about the taxation of said beverage. Regardless of your colonial-era politics, tea is the perfect beverage for late spring and early summer. It can be sipped hot to warm up a chilly morning, or gulped cold to cool down a hot afternoon. It can also be mixed with booze for brunches, barbecues, and bashes! Join Meredith at this month’s mixology class for a demonstration of three different tea-based tipples to toast the beginning of summer - shaken, stirred and punched. While we're at it, you'll learn foolproof techniques for your home bar and get hands-on to practice measuring, mixing, and mastering flavor with steal-the-recipe craft cocktails. Chris will serve up scrumptious snacks to soak up some of that booze.
